We welcome people of any level of Jewish knowledge, observance, and engagement. Wherever you are on your Jewish journey, we invite you to join us for this unique weekend experience. Camp Alonim is a non-denominational community that creates an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and stimulated, while offering participants many opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. It is not affiliated with any particular Jewish denomination or movement. Teen Weekend: We are pleased to be offering an Alonim Teen Weekend experience for campers currently in 8th, 9th, and 10th grades. While these teens will be living in their own bunks with their own counselors and will largely be engaged in programming separate from what is being offered during Family Camp, the entire camp community will be enjoying meals together as well as various activities that make Shabbat at Alonim so special. The Annual Bay Area Be’chol Lashon Family Camp Shabbaton Retreat has been held at Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma, CA since 2004. It begins with Friday night Shabbat dinner and Saturday morning Shabbat services, followed by adult workshops and supervised activities for children. The program format creates a welcoming environment for new members to celebrate Judaism, learn together, and continue to build the diverse Bay Area Be’chol Lashon community. Be’chol Lashon programming fosters a safe environment where individuals can express their Judaism. An atmosphere of inclusiveness while celebrating holidays or special events helps everyone feel part of the Jewish community. Be’chol Lashon activities are community-building, infused with teaching about Judaism, including the history of diversity of the Jewish people. Children with special needs ages 4 to 14, along with their parents and siblings, will enjoy specialized, therapeutic programming in a supportive environment. Ohr Lanu’s warm, caring staff includes trained special educators, behavior and family education specialist, and individual counselors paired with each family.
